Pirating
I have been thinking a lot these days about pirating and what that means to us as members. I mean I can’t lie I’ve done it, several times. And it makes me wonder if it really is wrong? I mean is it really stealing? Well I suppose you are reading this thinking why yes Amy, you didn’t pay for it and you are taking it from someone who will be losing money. But in all reality I just can’t really feel bad for it. Something like napster when it first came out was extremely convenient. It seemed easier than I tunes almost because you didn’t have to input information simply search and get the music I need. Maybe I should repent I’m not sure. According to the dictionary pirating is To make use of or reproduce (another's work) without authorization. So when I read it that way it makes more sense, because you don’t have permission it really is stealing. It makes me think about whether or not something is convenient or easy if it is worth it, but I guess that’s the way Satan works. I just like how more widely available music is. But I-tunes isn’t something that really helps people in music either. It makes the music industry lose so much money. I am surprised that more lawsuits haven’t been filed against Apple. But Apple has reinvented the way we look at technology. It has become an innovation. Like my earlier posts when I talked about the I-pad, which is way more than simply a glorified I-pod.
