More media effects and specifics

Just taking a jaunt through the book and found this interesting. It talks about the choosing of presidents. It says that most people do not watch the candidates speeches, or go to rallies or look at watch anything that has to do with them. Thsi is a place where media doesn't really have an effect, it's the people closest to you that really have an influencve. Which for me I don't do things this way. I think that it is so important, no matter how bias something is, to get both sides. I feel that there always is truth to each story, you just have to be dilligent enough to search for it. I also have been thinking about the commercials we see in class sometimes and how this effects culture. In England they apparently don't care as much for animal rights. It is weird to me to see the difference across cultures and how that effects what you see. The commercial where you see a cats head get cut off by a sun roof would never be aired here in the states. thank goodness for YOU tube yet again!
